About Us
In 1967 Wayne and Verna Alford founded Alford Floors and Interiors Inc and although this business solely started as a flooring store, Verna's love for design began to highly influence it. In 1973, Alford's began to sell furniture and accessories, thus hiring their first Interior Designers. Unfortunately in 1980, Wayne passed away, leaving Verna as the new president. Since then, Alford Floors & Interiors Inc. has grown into a reputable and successful business.
Over the years Alford's has been involved in many iconic events in Regina, like the renovation of the Hotel Saskatchewan, the design of Elton John's suite at the Brandt Centre and even volunteer work in the renovating of the Humane Society. Verna Alford: President
Over the years, Verna has earned numerous volunteer awards for all her time and effort that she has put into this community. She is a lifetime member of the Regina Humane Society, she has donated her time and products to numerous organizations' fundraisers from Ranch Erhlo, to the Cancer Society to the Conexus Art Centre - to name just a few. Verna was involved in the revitalization of the Hotel Saskatchewan Radisson Plaza and has since bought and is currently renovating and restoring Grant Hall in Moose Jaw.
In the business side, Verna has earned numerous awards for her amazing entrepreneurship. She was named the Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs of Canada and was in the Top 100 Saskatchewan Business's. In 1996, she was awarded the YWCAs' Woman of Distinction Award in Business, Labour and Professions.
Although Verna is an active member in our community and an exceptional entrepreneur, she is also responsible for the distinctive and classic style that grace Alford's sale floor. It is not uncommon to see Verna out on the floor, moving furniture and changing accessories to get just the right look. One of Verna's aspirations is that she would never ask anyone to do anything she herself would not do. Because of this and other inspirational policies, Verna has created a business that is successful and notorious for its' enthusiastic staff, superior customer service and of course making anyone who walks through the doors "An Alford's Customer!"
